At only 14 years old Ben Hingeley is making his way to becoming the next Formula World Champion. In his first year of Karting he won a magnificent 23 Trophies, held the Lap Record for the Valley Circuit in the Manchester and Buxton Kart Club which he held for over 2 years, and won the MBKC Invitation Series Championship.
2009 Ben had many 1st , 2nd and 3rd place positions to his name, Won the coverted ACE of Clubs Championship in which the best 16 clubs in the UK enter their top 2 drivers, Won the Grosvenor Cup, and steadily climbed the table in the Formula Kart Stars Championship. At the end of only his 2nd year of racing Ben finished in 2nd position MBKC Championship, 2nd in GYG Championship and 3rd in Hooton.
Ben from Glascoed near Abergele competed in the Formula Kart Stars British Championships, and at the official Launch on Wednesday 18th February 09 Ben got to meet his Hero, the Patron of the Championship, Lewis Hamilton.
2010 For 2010 Ben moved to the older, and much faster Mini Max Class, and joined SPR Race Team, (Sam Pollit Racing. Racing other drivers up to 15 years of age. Ben had an astonishing year in 2010 and was seeded number 15 in Great Britain after finishing 15th in the Super 1 British Championship. Also finishing 3rd in the Rookie championship. Ben has also become Chesire Kart Club 2010 Champion after winning CHKC Championship, following his win of the Chesire Cup and Grosvenor Cup. Finished 2nd in the Manchester and Buxton Championship, and 3rd in the GYG Championship. Fantastic results as he missed a few rounds of each to compete in the British Championships. All of this as well as many 1st,and podium finishes.
Ben has had a great deal of Television coverage in 2010 through Super 1 which can be found on Motors TV / Sky Sports 2 , 4. This has continued again into 2011. A copy of the Sky Sports 3 Super 1 British Championship coverage at Whilton Mill Northampton has been included for you to see.
Ben who attends Ysgol Emrys Ap Iwan has already been featured on the BBC North Wales Tonight, Sky Sports Formula Kart Stars, Sky Sports 3 and Motors TV, and has regular updates in the North Wales Newspapers.
2011 season, Ben remained with SPR Race team, and has competed once again in the Super 1 British Championship, and Formula Kart Stars Championship.
Ben has been racing engines built by FORCE Motorsport, and Grice Engineering now on Cream.
Ben has had one of his Best years yet Winning the first round of the Super 1 British Championships, and Formula Kart Stars Championship backed by Berni Ecclestone and Lewis Hamilton. He has had podium finishes in 4 rounds of the British Championship and 4 rounds of the Formula Kart Stars Championship. He has Become WELSH CHAMPION, Dragon Masters Champion in the Junior Class at Glan y Gors Circuit, Rotax Cup Champion and is now ranked number 4 in Great Britain.
2012 Ben has moved up to the Junior rotaxmax class and has continued with SPR and competed in Super one Bitish championship and the MBKC club championship. He has finished no 5 inthe ABKC super one now ranked UK no 5 in Junior Rotaxmax and is currently the MBKC 2013 club Champion.
2013 Ben continued to race Junior rotaxmax but moved to Strawberry Racing winning the ABKC British open championship before moving back to SPR to complete the ABKC super one British Championship were he finished vice British Champion.
2014 Ben became the works driver for energy UK helping to develop the Italian energy chassis in Britain. Due to insufficient funding he took time out from serious competition and campaigned for a budget to race single seaters for 2015
2015 Ben Competed in the single seater Formula Jedi championship. He broke 3 circuit records, 8 pole positions and 11 podiums before becoming the 2015 Formula Jedi Champion.
2016 Ben agreed a sponsorship deal with Mr Paul Rooney of Thakeham Homes and raced with HHC in British Formula 3 with one pole position and two podiums he finished 10th in the final standings.
2017 Ben has continuing support from Mr Paul Rooney of Thakeham homes and will race with Fortec in the British Formula 3 Championship.
